- We are looking for famly. My father was Richard Eugene Bowers Sr. MD born in Saint Paul MN. Moved to LA area CA and started practice in San Diego. I believe his fathers name was Edward Bowers, he died about 1959 or 60. My father had at least two half brother or sisters named Bowers, My father told me he believed that we had some relitives in southern VA.

His mom was Mignon Frame Bowers [hence the first name]. MIgnon was from Xenia, Ohio I think. Anyway, Frame [the first, my dad is the third] either lived or moved the family to Alice, Texas. Any additional information about the family would be nice. Also there are rumors of a "Crazy Lizzie Bowers" who rode horseback regular-style [not side-saddle] -- rumors of her from relatives in Arlington, Texas. She might have married into the McCoy family back in the late 1800s.

I think there were Gentry's married in the family. My grandfather would have been one of the Daniel Bowers. I can not determine which one because I do not know any of my fathers people. Most would be deceased except cousins. Names such as Joe (Joseph) the Gentry name. Guy, Terry, Daniel was married to a July (Julie) Cannon possibly around 189-1898. Names such as Godfrey, Grant, could be related or their families,this would possibly be Julie's brothers. Names Ruth, Molly, Ollie were Bowers, possibly my father's sisters or aunts. They would have lived in Carter Co. Tn. Daniel married a Mattie Lewis after Julie. They had two known sons named Frank and Monroe who may still be living in the area or their families.

- I hope I'm not tainting the list but since I've heard that the s has been added and/or subtracted to/from many Bower names over the years I figured I'd put my two cents worth in. My grandfather, Joseph Bowers lived in Washington,IN and was married to Anna Koch. They had five children, Helen, Jerome, Joseph, Mary and Anna Fern. Jerome was my father and lived in Washington, Seymore and North Vernon, IN. They had four girls and two boys, Helen, Mary Rose, Anna Louise, Frances Jean, Donald Jerome and James Jerome(me). We have started having a re-union the last Sunday in July for the past three years but have been discussing changing it to September as the July weather in Washington is extremly humid & hot.I would like to hear from anyone that knows a connection to my grandfather.
