Does anyone know anything about a Michael Bowers.....
Hi Everyone! My name is Tawnne Bowers-Barrera, daughter of Ron & Vivian Bowers (divorced). I am trying to find information on my grandfather, Earl Elwood Bowers DOB 8/19/1914 or 1916. Earl was born in Detroit, MI and lived in the Pontiac, MI area when he died May 22, 1992. Earl worked at the Pontiac Division of General Motors and was also a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. Earl was adopted by Michael Bowers, supposedly married to a Verne Lu (sp?)Adams. I would like to eventually try to find info on Earl's real biological parents, but would settle for finding something on his mother and adoptive father to start with! I am guessing that they lived in the Detroit area as well. Somebody out there has got to know something!!! Bowers, Earl Elwood or Bowers, Michael in Michigan
I posted in 2006 looking for information on a Michael Bowers who may have adopted my grandfather, Earl Elwood Bowers in Michigan. I also posted prior to that looking for any information I could find on Earl Elwood Bowers. There have been no responses so I am posting again! Earl Elwood Bowers, dob 08/19/1914 or 1916 and died 05/22/1992. He was a Corporal in the US Army Air Corp WW II. He is buried in the Sashabaw Cemetary in Clarkston, Michigan. He was living in Pontiac, MI when he died. Earl was married for a short time to Erma Guilliat and fathered three children: Elwood, Ronald, and Carol. It seems they lived around Walled Lake, MI around that time. After Erma and Earl divorced, they never had contact with him again. I am Ronald's daughter, and my cousin Paula is Elwood's daughter. We have both been searching for information on our families and have hit the wall at Earl. On a 1918 Draft Registration Card, Earl listed his parents as Vernlu Adams and Michael Bowers. I have spent hours and hours and hours and cannot find anything on any of these people. Paula has information that Earl may have been adopted by the Michael Bowers family, but again, we haven't been able to find any information whatsoever. One other tidbit: The Oakland County Michigan Court Explorer shows divorce court actions that took place between Earl E. Bowers and LaTrena J. Bowers in 1968 & 1970, so we are hypothesizing that he may have remarried to LaTrena and then divorced again. Perhaps there is someone out there from her family that knows something.
